Overview
Epitalon (also written Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, AEDG) modelled on a fragment of the pineal-gland peptide epithalamin. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder for laboratory research.
It is studied in vitro and in animal models for telomerase activity, telomere biology, and pineal and circadian research. It is supplied as a research reference material only and is not for human or animal consumption.
Research areas
- Telomerase enzyme activity, studied in vitro
- Telomere-length and replicative-senescence research models
- Pineal-gland and melatonin-rhythm research
- Circadian-biology research models

Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a sealed vial and kept frozen until dispatch. Unopened vials are typically stored at -20°C for the long term and 2-8°C for short periods. After reconstitution with bacteriostatic water, vials are generally refrigerated at 2-8°C, protected from light, and not subjected to repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
